mr762a1 Like its 5.56 mm counterpart, the Heckler and Koch MR762A1 for sale online is a direct descendent of the HK416/417 series, only in a semi-automatic rifle configuration developed for civilian users. It is assembled in the USA using US and German-made components and uses many of the same parts and assemblies developed for the legendary HK416 and 417. 

The MR762A1 uses a proprietary HK short-stroke gas piston in place of the direct-gas-impingement system found on lesser AR15-style rifles that propels exhaust gas into the upper receiver to operate the action. In the “closed” HK piston system, exhaust gasses never enter the receiver, which means the HK runs cooler, cleaner and more reliably.

And when adverse conditions, like dust, sand and mud are introduced, the advantage of the HK system becomes even more drastic. That is why so many of the world’s elite military and law-enforcement customers have absolute trust in their HKs.

HK  Features

 

The HK  is the civilian version of the HK417 rifle.  Chambered in 7.62mmNATO, this semi-automatic AR10-inspired rifle is gas operated and runs on a short-stroke gas piston system and an 8-lug rotating bolt.  Its 16.5 inch barrel is surrounded by a free-floating M-Lok handguard that supplements a full-length optics rail.

HK  Capacity

The  is chambered in 7.62x51mmNATO (.308 Winchester) and feeds from proprietary double-stack detachable magazines.  10 round mags are available while the standard capacity is 20 rounds.  This rifle will NOT accept AR10 pattern magazines.

HK  Mobility

 

The HK  has an unloaded weight of 9.5 pounds and an overall length from 36 to 39 inches depending on how far out the stock is set.  This rifle easily exceeds 12 pounds once a scope and a full magazine are added.  Its relatively short length allows for decent performance in close quarter environments.

HK Ergonomics

 

The HK  has the same handling and controls as an AR10 or AR15 with the addition of an ambidextrous safety and charging handle.  It is built with an adjustable stock  and ergonomic pistol grip to provide the best possible trigger pull.

HK MR762A1 Fit & Finish

The HK  is made almost entirely of proprietary parts and only shares similarities to the AR10 in its chamber, control manipulation and general look.  It is otherwise an entirely different rifle and stands above other semi-automatic 7.62mmNATO rifles.  All contacting surfaces are honed and polished for reliability and smooth operation.
